HAND PAINTED TILES by Frances Hosker

Frances studied art at Canterbury College of Art & Design. She worked as a potter for 8 years, both making and decorating the ware she produced.  
                                                 

However it was her love of painting that inspired her to combine the two.

She now produces hand painted tiles and murals, using traditional techniques and methods.    

They are perfect behind  an AGA or range cooker.

Floor tiles & 'brick tiles';-  These beautiful tiles, reduction fired in gas kiln could be 600 years old and are extremely strong and durable. For full details go to  Floor tile page

Made with English clay these tile have a richness not found in cheaper  Italian, Spanish or Mexican tiles which tend to be yellowy to pink. On top of the richness in the clay by firing in a reduction kiln, the flames give darker and lighter tiles just as they would have hundreds of years ago with wood and coal fired kilns.
